Report of the 1st Meeting of Study Group on Medical Engineer Training in Africa (working title) 2017-12-18
AFRECO has been organizing the Networking Sessions for Japanese doctors and staff who are working in the African Medical Field every 6 month since TICAD6 in 2016. In the process of these networking sessions, we have discussed how we Japanese can support the African medical field, and we came up with the idea of setting up medical engineer training center(s) in Africa, which could be a bit of help for bringing up the medical level in Africa, which could be a help for Japanese doctors and staff working in Africa, and which could be a chance for Japanese corporations of medical devices and pharmacies to obtain bigger markets in Africa. AFRECO, therefore, set up the study group, “Medical Engineer Training in Africa (working title)” to discuss what exactly we need to do to realize this idea. Here is the memo from their 1st meeting (Japanese only). Should you have any opinions, suggestions and ideas, please contact us. The 2nd meeting and/or the networking session will be in mid-February. The details will be announced in early January.
